Rain and thunderstorms were back in the weather forecast Tuesday around the New York City area. It was a First Alert Weather Day.

Flood Watch remains in effect in parts of area
The day got off to another mild and murky start, with even some locally dense fog around the airports. Thankfully, the morning commute was spared from the rain, for the most part, with just some damp roads and drizzle.
After a very active few hours this afternoon in our western suburbs, our atmosphere quieted down. Currently all the warnings have been allowed to expire.
The only alerts left are the Flood Watch until 2 a.m. Wednesday in our northern suburbs.
There is still a line of heavy rain passing to our north. New York City and areas south should be quiet save a stray shower overnight. We will clear out nicely Wednesday.
Our next rain chance will be late Thursday into Friday. This is mainly a damp and cooler day with no severe threat, just rain that will impact your day. Travel delays are possible, and it will be another First Alert Weather Day.
