2 dead, 2 arrested after shooting in South Los Angeles
Two people were killed and another person was injured during a shooting in South Los Angeles on Saturday, police said.
It happened a little before 6:30 p.m. near Florence Avenue and Dalton Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Officers arrived to the scene and found two men, both believed to be in there 20s, suffering from deadly gunshot wounds at the scene.
On Tuesday, one of the men was identified as 48-year-old Kevin Ball by the Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner.
A third person, only identified as a woman also in her 20s, was also reportedly injured in the incident, but it's unclear if their injuries were shooting-related, police said. They were taken to a hospital in unknown condition.
There was no motive provided for the shooting, and police were seen searching a large perimeter in the neighborhood where it happened.
"Following the incident, officers in the area located and arrested one suspect," said a post on X made by LAPD. "A second suspect was later taken into custody during a subsequent search within the established perimeter."
It's unclear if there are any outstanding suspects.
Investigators are working to determine if the shooting was gang-related.
